Vendor Feature: The Wedding + Event Creators

We are really excited about this blog post because we are featuring one of our favorite vendors: The Wedding + Event Creators! We got in contact with the owner Vanessa and had her answer a few questions about weddings and working with us!

Tell us about yourself and where you’re based.
Hi, I’m Vanessa, owner at The Wedding and Event Creators! We offer styling, hire, wedding planning and on the day set up and coordination services and are based in Gerringong on the South Coast of NSW but always happy to travel!

What is your favourite part about the planning process with a client?
I am a super organised person so I love checklists, creating run sheets and timelines for our couples, and being a cross checker-fiend! I love when our clients say how relieved they are that we have their back and we won’t let them forget anything. Working so long in this industry now I feel like we make sure we prevent any hiccups well before the big day with experience and organisation in advance. I love allowing our couples to enjoy the planning process and the fun stuff like dress shopping and styling choices rather than the logistical side of things that can sometimes be quiet full on or overwhelming. Leave that to us!

Can you share a memory about working with Baker Boys Band?
We always love working with the Baker Boys Band! There is nothing better then live music at a wedding to bring the best vibe and ambiance, and this crew knows how to get people up and dancing at a wedding!

Share one of your most memorable experiences as a planner.
I love problem solving and finding solutions for situations on event day, it gives me a real adrenalin kick and is why I love what I do! One wedding we did, the oven completely broke during the middle of cooking, at a fairly remote location. So without the couple knowing, I had on speed dial the personal mobile of the provider, we arranged a new one to be brought down urgently and with barely a timeplan hiccup the wedding continued as planned. The bride could not believe when she found out afterwards and was super grateful, I have no idea if they would have been served any food if we hadnt stepped in and all suppliers banded together! But the show (or wedding) must go on and i love that is our job as a planner to always make sure this happens. Was a win win outcome. 5

What is your business mantra?
Cross check and triple check and quadruple check everything before the big day and that everything does happen for a reason! A personal mantra would be ‘Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.’
